The Fall-Live in '85 Vol 1 11 Sep 85 Bremen Schlacthof - SPEED CORRECTED This Nation's missing live album. Dime download>Audacity>TLH>FLAC Contrast Clause This is a speed corrected version of #330697 The Fall, Bremen, Schlachthof September, 11, 1985. RE-SEED http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=330697 Using Audacity, I - reduced the speed by 5% upped the bass level on most tracks (a version I have had similarly high bass level and sounded 'right' hence trying to match it here). gain reduced by 3db in some cases to allow for the bass increase. 01 Bombast 02 Couldn't Get Ahead 03 What You Need 04 L.A. 05 Barmy 06 Petty Thief Lout 07 2 x 4 08 Gut of the Quantifier 09 Cruiser's Creek 10 The Man Whose Head Expanded 11 Kicker Conspiracy 12 Elves The re-release of This Nation's Saving Grace, sans live album, is upon us. I long felt that the 1985 tour(s) by The Fall, along with other great years from them live (like, 1981, 1982, 1988, 1990, 1993, I could go on... :)) were worth commemorating with a multi disk set. Clearly, that's not going to happen, not on an official basis anyway. This is a speed corrected version of a recent torrent of this gig. On the Fall forum it was pointed out that a version I shared elsewhere online seemed the right speed, and that the version torrented here, while very good quality ran fast. So, for downloaders to decide whether they need this, or whether to do a little DIY, check the Contrast Clause above. I am very much an amateur at this but I've been told I have a good ear. I've asserted before that Petty Thief Lout is better than the original here...the keyboard makes it haunting and beautiful, and I stand by that. I have a Live in '85 part 2 planned very soon. Part 3? I actually recommend downloading the Chicago Exit gig (from 4th April 1985). I considered highlights and / or tweaking it for this project - but there was no point. Despite the latter gig having a little hiss and an odd sound mix, on the bright side, on listening through it I found it actually had quite a beautiful sound (that word again, not always used in conjunction with The Fall, but it is appropriate here!), and I felt that before I even got to Disney's Dream Debased. Anyway, this Bremen gig I feel is overall the best and most representative gig from the Fall in 1985. It still has the odd minor fault (someone said a 'limiter' may have been used), but the great performance shines through. Enjoy. IF ANYONE CAN HELP... I'd really appreciate if anyone could help continue these seeds a little longer - Dime #267611 The Fall - 1981-05-19 Markthalle, Hamburg, Germany Dime #274005 The Fall - 1981-07-16 Tut's, Chicago, IL Dime #264307 The Fall - 1982-08-10 Trade Union Club, Sydney, Australia Dime #272662 The Fall - 1986-02-10 Lasers Disco, Heringey, England Thanks for any help there! :)
