The Fall 2005-10-27 Coal Exchange, Cardiff, Wales AUD FLAC additional info http://thefall.org/gigography/gig05.html "Touch Sensitive" is an instrumental apart from some Ed Blaney vocals. There's some great toasting by a member of the audience in "Blindness". - "Hup! One, one! Can I hear myself?" (before "What About Us") - "You're sounding pretty good tonight." (amended lyrics to "Clasp Hands") ============================= Discussion here: http://z1.invisionfree.com/thefall/ar/t9531.htm ============================= https://sites.google.com/site/reformationposttpm/gig-reviews/the-fall-live/2005/20051027---the-coal-exchange-cardiff ‪20051027 - The Coal Exchange, Cardiff, Wales‬ Mark E Smith   Elena Poulou  Ben Pritchard  Steve Trafford   Spencer Birtwistle  Youwanner   F-oldin' Money   What About Us   Theme from Sparta F.C.   Pacifying Joint  Midnight Aspen   Wrong Place, Right Time   I can hear the grass grow  Mountain Energei   Assume   Touch Sensitive  All Clasp Hands   Blindness   1h3m   audience audio  Average audience tape - bass and keys noticeable and drums well up in the mix, especially the cymbals and hi-hats. Mark is low in the mix and Ben is a little too low for the first few songs. A tub-thumping "Youwanner" kicks things off complete with telephone trilling. Before "What About Us" Mark indicates he cannot hear himself. Things improve by the time we get to "Sparta" with the vox a lot better positioned in the mix -hovever its a strange old version with the band and Mark in different time continua. The whole thing is a little manic and the high drum mix gives it a strange reverb feel. Mark is very clear on "Mountain", trouble is Spen's busy drums are more akin to Adam and the Ants and Ben's picking is a little out of place. The high point of the evening is a restless charge through "Assume" where the band and the singer are locked for once in the session. "Touch Sensitive" features an extended guitar intro with swirling scratchy synth noises which morph in Dik-Mik like sworls of Space Ritual era Hawkwind - microphones fail and vocals are lost...... MES leaves the proceedings- the pace is a little too fast - at 4:15 a member of audience takes over with a unique rant. "Clasp Hands" is taken at a ferocious pace - Mr Smith returns and is in good form. It concludes a again a pacy version of "Blindness". A bit of an oddity frankly.
