The Fall. The Old Market, Hove. 29th March 2007 Intro Senior Twilight Stock Replacer Pacifying Joint Over! Over! Fall Sound Theme from Sparta FC My Door Is Never Wrong Place, Right Time What About Us White Lightning The Wright Stuff Blindness Off stage Reformation Outro I've been pondering life and at the same time sorting out a bunch of minidiscs that clutter the loft of Hanley mansions. I upped the 2007 Hammersmith Palais gigs last week only for the ruthlessly humourless Dime mods to ban it as I'd infringed rule 33.3 sub section 12 paragraph 3B. "We don't make these rules for fun" they said. I think plenty grabbed it before we got rumbled though. Anyway, you can't post recordings of gigs that are also official releases. I was given the link to The Fall's Wiki page which 'quite clearly' shows this gig available on DVD. My apologies.   But no problems here with The Old Market in Hove in the same year. Again this was upped on Dime back then but I think my track splitting software was a bit rough and not exactly seamless. So you can have it again without any intrusion.   This was a halcyon period for The Fall. The Americans were getting to grips with the set and basically just having a laugh. This was a true classic of a gig and I'm afraid I did get a bit carried away and forgot where I was (taping). A fair bit of crowd chatter and at the end I'm just being hurled about the mosh like a rag doll desperately asking for 'protection' from my brother. It was nuts, especially when Elena's amp caught fire. (earlier on in the evening the fire alarm went off and everyone was evacuated only for MES to turn up in a cab to make an entrance like a Hollywood film star). When someone get the mic and shouts "where's your campfire gone", this is a reference to the amp fire being extinguished.   Also grabbing the mic at the end is 'Johnny Fall', the only Jehovah's Witness Fall fan I know. I bumped into him in Morrison's recently and he was still in the same tweed jacket he was wearing in 2007. At the end I start kissing a Cornishman with a Mohican. Like I say, these were halcyon days.   So this recording is a little on the rough side, but if you've not already got this one you certainly won't be disappointed.
