Due to unforeseen circumstances (I have a girlfriend who doesn’t really understand what’s really important in life), I was on holiday exploring the wonderful delights of south western Ireland meeting all sorts of unintelligible uncles and aunties west of Cork, via Wexford, Dublin and somewhere else with a river running through it and pink painted pubs with no Sky TV or decent WiFi. 

Absolute heaven.

Anyway, this put me in a bit of a pickle as I needed a trust pair of hand to take control of my precious recording gear and grubby old Dalek hat. There really is only one person I could trust. However they weren’t available, or were my second choice. I phoned my brother.

I had to go to his house and train him. I also bought him a ticket. I also told him he had to get the record as well. And he mustn’t get pissed. I was very strict.

So I went to Ireland with my girlfriend ‘of many relatives’ and sent my evil twin to Brighton in my absence. ‘Evilhanleyfender’.

He’s done a stunning job. Some might say he’s done a better job than me but let’s not talk about that. Recording is absolutely spot-on. So than thanks Kev.

Kev got invited back stage with the lads after the gig to share some Jamison’s whisky. Maybe more than one as I get a call at 11.30 pm in my dodgy Dublin Air B&B to sat that there appears to be no more trains home? 

“It’s Sunday Kev you prick” was my helpful reply. 

So his missus drives the 30mins to Brighton to get him on her jim-jams.
