The Fall. 93 Feet East. Brick Lane, London. 12th September 2006. intro Scenario Pacifying Joint Theme from Sparta FC Mountain Energei Fall Sound Reformation What About Us I Can Hear the Grass Grow Blindness Off stage My Door Is Never Mr. Pharmacist Systematic Abuse outro As with the Monday night show I uploaded yesterday, I think I’ve been able to clean this up just a little from the original recording I shared here back in 2006. I think this is much more powerful recording (levels a bit on the high side again), but as with the previous night, this wasn’t an easy environment to be fannying about with small buttons in semi darkness and fag smoke. This is a magnificent set from a group that only just been cobbled together after the ‘desertion’ of those ‘TLC’s in the desert only weeks before. If you search YouTube you can find some video of these two nights. It was as I remember a narrow room with a balcony at the rear where the mixing desk and Grant Showbiz were comfortably out of harm’s way. It was so loud as well, and unbelievably hot for a September night. I’d forgotten how incredible Blindness is here, however the best most certainly is last with Systematic Abuse which is just so special. My second most favourite ever recording of a fall song did in the decade I recorded. It just has it all, including at the very end ex (according to Dave Simpson in The Fallen) member of The Fall Stuart Estell on vocals. The only time in history an ex member of The Fall has song from the audience. So, you may want this as a slight upgrade but it’s not too different from when I did it 14 years ago. I’ve again added the entire file as the outro for a bit of fun. I did manage to get the set list after all. These were very special nights with really good people.
