The Fall. Camden Crawl. Electric Ballroom London 25th April 2009. Intro Strangetown Wolf Kidult Man Cowboy George 50 Year Old Man Funnel of Love Bury off stage Reformation Latch Key Kid Outro A fabulous return to form in my humble opinion and those desperate for a new song won't be disappointed by this new 'Cowboy style' / 'Flashing Blade' number, the ending of which rambles on due to Kieran's drum kit having fallen apart. Funnel of Love also has a new and improved 'fast bit' added, presumably included since the band has been in the recording studio. Reformation includes MES mentioning how good Kieran is as a drummer and then he goes on to say something about 'some of us are going'? Hmm. I enjoyed this much more than Koko. For once the band didn't look a Madame Tussauds exhibit. I even noticed Pete move a bit. This recording is also superior to the Koko. I liked the couple of full beer pints that were hurled at the stage (missing me), although this bought an angry 'one finger' from Elana who also appeared troubled with technical problems on her keyboard. Not the usual crusty old Fall audience at all, and I didn't recognise a soul. Quite refreshing indeed. I heard a young lad ask someone who this band was? This older guy told him they were the best band in the world ever. The young lad said cheers, and bounced off into the mosh. Wonderful. MES up and walking aging after his broken hip. Ironically less amp fiddling than when he was struggling around the stage in a wheel chair. One of the best gigs I've seen from this line up. Recording quality better than my Cambridge and Koko as the smaller venue coped much better with the acoustics. I'm sure you'll all enjoy this one! Hanley. The Consortium. I
