This could be a defining moment in Fall history with talk about ‘retirement’ being mentioned by MES right at the very end. OK, he was looking at the band going to a home for old folks, but he did make sure he was making a point about something. With Damflicters being the last new Fall song written back in November, you do have to wonder what’s happening next.
Saying that, this was a full on attack on a familiar set, but with a lot of quirky stuff being added as if the band had been given some sort of freedom to mess about a bit ‘Dudes style’. Nate is again immense with lots of clear vox from MES. A strange ‘Dear John’ rant before Chino also adds to the strange feel to the evening.
You may pick up some extra crowd noise during Bury as I was right next to a 6 man brawl with the bouncers. Something had gone on earlier but spilled over just to my felt. I tried to Hanleyvision it but it was a bit dark. Crowd chatter from my set list / cider supplier as well bless him Cheers Dan. One day you’ll actually realise I’ve got bloody mics on!! It matters not. Overall quality is fine.
Top class quality Fall again, but this time with a twist or two.
